Adam Nicholson, who lost his battle with cancer in March this year, had dedicated his life to the game of Rugby Union in Australia and was an integral part of the clubs off field team through his work as a volunteer.
The Rebel of the Year Award was named in his honour in recognition of his commitment to the RaboDirect Rebels. Throughout this time and despite his illness, Bear provided constant inspiration with the fighting spirit he displayed through the peaks and troughs he endured.
Up until his final days, Bear was a constant feature at training, inspiring the entire club with his positive attitude.
This year's winner was awarded to Warren Smith who worked closely with 'Bear', with the presentation made by his wife Bronwyn.
