Good news has emerged out of Auckland on the health of former RaboDirect Rebel Hoani Macdonald.
Hoani went into cardiac arrest just minutes after being taken from the field when he collapsed whilst running from a lineout, where ambulance officers performed CPR for 10 minutes.
Hoani has now been moved from ICU and his showing positive signs.
Earlier today, Southland Rugby CEO Brian Hopley said:
"We are delighted to report that Hoani Macdonald has continued to improve overnight, and today will be moved from the ICU at Middlemore Hospital to a coronary care ward.
"Hoani has sent his thanks to everyone who has shown support for him and his family over the past two days, but they also ask for continued privacy.”
Michelle Notman, Hoani's fiancée and mother of their two boys, Iwi, 2, and Kade, 11 months, has publicly thanked the rugby community for their "love and support" throughout the past 48 hours.
