Experienced prop, Nic Henderson, was one of the pillars that formed the foundations of the RaboDirect Rebels. The Loosehead packed down in the front row of the Rebels scrum in 10 matches in 2011, forming a solid base, with the likes of Greg Somerville and Laurie Weeks. The 30-year old arrived in Victoria following a year with the Western Force but it is with the Brumbies that Nic is most associated. He debuted for the ACT side in 2004 and, incredibly, featured in every Brumbies game until the end of the 2008 season – an amazing achievement for anyone, let alone such a hardworking member of the tight five. Nic was also with the Brumbies in 2009, racking up a total of 70 appearances for the club, including that memorable 2004 grand final triumph over the Crusaders.Nic began his rugby journey in NSW playing rugby league and in 1999 was on the books of NRL side Melbourne Storm, but spending most of his time at the club at their Brisbane feeder side. After being encouraged to switch to Rugby Union, Nic enjoyed a meteoric rise through the ACT Academy, Australian U21s and eventually the title-winning Brumbies. The consistent prop debuted for the Wallabies in 2004 against the Pacific Islands and has gone on to collect three caps.
