20-year old forward, Luke Jones, is a RaboDirect Rebels star in the making. Although he made just one appearance for the club in 2011 his performance in the fixture away to the Cheetahs would surely have earned him further opportunities had it not been for the timing of the Junior World Championships.Luke is the prototype modern forward. Tall enough to operate in the second row he is athletic and skillful enough to line up anywhere in the back row. He debuted for the Rebels as a Blindside Flanker but in his next outing represented his country as a Lock. Luke was an integral member of the club’s Rebel Rising ‘A’ team during its debut season. His performances throughout the campaign earned him the Rebel Rising Player of the Year award. Despite being one of the youngest members of the squad, Luke arrived in Victoria with Super Rugby experience. He played twice for the Western Force in 2010, a side he agreed to join while still at school. This made him the first forward in Australian rugby to sign professional terms as a schoolboy.Luke has represented his country at schoolboy level and twice participated in the Junior World Championships.
