Jason joins the RaboDirect Rebels as one of the finds of the 2012 ITM Cup, having played a starring role for the Wellington Lions at fullback. The former New Zealand under 20s representative joins the star studded Rebels backline for two seasons, where he will be looking to reproduce the form that saw many New Zealanders disappointed to see him head across the ditch.Jason’s greatest assets are his speed, skill and versatility. He plays first five, fullback or wing, and possesses the ability to kick from both feet.At only 22, Jason has shown the poise of a veteran, as the Lions' leading point scorer in 2012 and go to player throughout the ITM Cup.Woodward has had his sights set on a Super Rugby opportunity since his debut match for Wellington Lions against Taranaki, where he scored a hat trick of tries.Away from the field, Jason is an eager golfer, and has a long term ambition to become a commercial helicopter pilot. Jason makes up one of three players from the Wellington Lions club, with Rebels Foundation hooker Ged Robinson and openside flanker Scott Fuglistaller also hailing from the New Zealand capital.
