Expressions of interest are now open for female players looking to be involved in the 2019 Super W season.
With the Super W now in its second year, the Rebels would like to hear from all female athletes across Victoria wishing to be considered for the Melbourne Rebels Super W team.
Players are not required to be affiliated with any Victorian Rugby club to be eligible for selection, and players from Rugby League, AFL etc are encouraged to attend.
The competition will run from February to April and will feature representative women’s teams from the NSW Waratahs, ACT Brumbies, QLD Reds and the Western Force.
Pre-season training starts Monday 12th November and will continue right up until Saturday 22nd December, before breaking for Christmas.
The first 2 weeks of pre-season will be used as selection for the program, with a squad of 30-35 selected by Thursday 29th of November, to continue training up until and post-Christmas.
Players must be prepared to train 3-4 days per week from the start of the program on November 12th, all the way through to the Super W final in April 2019. Training will be across several venues, so players will need to be prepared to travel.
An information session will be held on Saturday, November 10th at 12.00pm in the AAMI Park Theatrette (Gate 5, Entrance E, AAMI Park). Please meet outside by 11.55am so we can start on time.
