Biography

Matt To'omua is a utility back, whose preferred position is flyhalf or inside centre.

Originally born in Melbourne, To'omua possesses silky-smooth skills. To'omua makes the play making role look easy as he glides across the pitch looking for options.

A Wallaby tourist in 2010, To'omua has often found himself on the wrong end of serious injuries with a broken jaw just minutes into his national debut ruling him out of the rest of the spring tour.

To'omua has been a Wallabies main stay ever since however, and was apart of Australia's campaign at the 2015 Rugby World Cup squad.

On November 15, 2015, Leicester Tigers announced to have signed To'omua on a three-year deal, beginning at the end of the 2016 season.

To'omua started the 2017/18 season well starring in eight of Leicester Tigers' nine matches.

In November 2017 he signed a contract extension to stay with Leicester Tigers up to 2020.

In August 2018 Leicester Tigers confirmed that To'omua will be granted an early release of his contract at the end of the 2018/19 season to return home to Australia and take up a two and half year deal with the Melbourne Rebels and Rugby Australia.

To'omua was granted an early release from the Leicester, to join the Rebels for their crunch game against the Bulls in Round 14.

To'omua was selected in the Wallabies' 2019 The Rugby Championship squad.
